I saw the (Sapphire) 270 for 170 ( was 150) and the (MSI) 280x at 300. I dont want to cheap out on graphics so... And if the 270 goes down to 150 again should I buy? When will there be more sales and rebates because I wasnt able to buy when they had rebates. My budget is 800 I want to play all the new games because im switching to PC

Usually you should go for the best single graphics card that your budget will allow. Going the two card route, the performance doesn't scale exactly and a lot of games have issues with crossfire, especially across multiple screens etc if that was ever an option.

Have you considered buying an open box or used graphics card? You can find excellent deals with those, around $200 USD for a 280x.

Well you could get the 270 and upgrade when ever a new card is released that you find cool :)

I just installed a new MSI R9 270X. I don't know what games you play, but I play War Thunder now and I set it to "movie" graphics (beyond Ultra) and I get about 85-90 FPS all the time. I tried it out on WoW with everything - even shadows- set to max and got over 80 FPS everywhere I went. A movie is about 24-25 FPS. So anything more is icing on the cake in terms of smooth gaming experience. I upgraded from a 4-5 year old Radeon 4890 and my overall bench comparisons showed my new card was 172% better.

Anything under 30 FPS is usually considered unplayable, but the GPU he should get does indeed depend on the games he plays.

I got the asus r9 270 2g oc ed. It really is amazing, I had an intel laptop with integrated graphics so its a huge jump up. I get 75 fps maxed on warface, and all my other games go beyond ( Garrys mod, Cod waw, Planetside 2, Goat sim, etc) I love it!
