I'm having an issue with the resolution changing on my hannspree pc monitor. My monitor is connected to my pc using an hdmi cable which gives me my usual image. I then recently decided to connect my pc to my tv using a vga cable. Duplicating my desktop to my tv seems to work just fine except for one issue which is that when the tv is actually turned on, the resolution on my pc changes. The native for my monitor is 1440x900 and the resolution for my tv is 1920x1080.

I apologize if my description is bland but I'm not a professional and I appreciate the help. (Basically I can only describe my pc image as being "stretched across the middle with black bars on top and bottom")

Is there any way I can fix the resolution on my monitor or will I just have to work with it because the resolutions are different? Thanks again.

Unfortunately, I tried your theory but it did not actually work. However, by fiddling around with the AMD Vision Engine Control Center, I figured out how to fix it myself. All I had to do was check the box that would enable the use of EDID under the VGA Display properties. Thanks again for the help. :)
