Hello,

I am going to upgrade my graphics card as i am having problems with it, it says nvidia display driver kernel mode has stopped responding. Then i will get a blue screen and it will shut down. I have been told this is a graphics card problem as nvidia comes up, i have tried reinstalling drivers and updating with no success.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 ,
IMotherboard: Packard Bell EG43M
Ram: 6GB ddr2 RAM
Power Supply: 250 watt
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GT 220.
HDD: 1TB
Operating System: Windows 7 64bit

Can anyone recommend a good Grapics card for a decent price that will work with my computer? will appreciate any help!

Thanks

The 550ti is better. The 650 is more power effecient, but the 550ti will perform a bit better.

If this is your motherboard:

then yeah, any PCIe GPU will work and the one you linked is much better than that 220 you have now and that looks like a really low price. I'm not sure you will find more power without spending much closer to your 100 (i.e. R7 260X, is 91.49, GTX750 is 83).
PCIe standards are all backwards compatible, however, a PCIe 3.0 card will be limited to the spec of the motherboard, which I haven't found the full spec on it.

As for the PSU, you wont need a lot of power, but still need quality, so:

For a PSU, you don't want to get less than a 80+ bronze, it will be unreliable and could potentially kill your machine, due to sub-standard parts.
