I have a 128Gb SSD. The only thing on the drive is a clean install of win7 (no updates, software etc), which ought to be about 16gb.

In the PC it is intended for, windows states that win7 is using 69Gb of storage on the drive, which is wrong. (it also appears in disk manager in Adminstrative Tools but not in My computer when using an alternative install.)

When I put the SSD into a different PC, it states Win7 is using 16gb of storage, which is correct.

Why is this and how can I correct this?

Solution
If the SSD isn't showing up outside of the device manager, you probably need to properly assign it in the Administrator tools --> computer management --> disk manager
I've used this program: http://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/
to determine what exactly is going on with high windows disk usage before. How much ram does the problematic PC have on it? --asking that to see if the page file size is driving the usage way up.

I had changed the page file to use a HDD but forgot to change the SSD from 'System Managed'. So now the drive is showing Win7 using 33gb of storage, still quite high, Also, the SSD is still not recognised in My Comp but present in Device Man.
