6. Why do you think your single threaded run improved on your dual core processor (as compared so the single threaded run on a single core processor?

I'm not sure if I understand the question, but generally a single core CPU has to run everything on the PC (including the single threaded application we're talking about here, as well as the OS), whereas a dual core CPU can have one core handling the application we're talking about and the other core can handle everything else.
