My graphics card wont run with my current bios...?

Hi!

So I just got a nice new GTX 760, and after installing, the computer wont even get to the bios part. I made sure everything possible inside the computer, and ended up finding something ,that this particular card might not work with my current Mobo/bios. There's something like ueci, which is not working in my mobo. (H-CUPERTINO2-H61-uA TX (Cupertino2))

Is this true? Is the Ueci thing missing? Does it mean I have to get a new mobo too?

Current: GT 530, 8gb ram, 2TB, 600w psu, hp cupertino 2 mobo and gpu will be GTX 760 after upgrade

Do you have the opportunity to test the new card in a different system? It's always possible the card is faulty (in which case it should be replaced under warranty)

Also if you can boot with either the old card or the onboard video, check your BIOS settings. If there's an option to use "Legacy" ROM rather than EFI somewhere that may need to be enabled.

Well, the computer works fine with my old card, so its definitely the new one causing trouble.

That board seems to be from an HP desktop system. Can you post the HP model number of the desktop? Try also to post what options are available in the BIOS.

This is the exact old model, but I have actually replaced the gpu and psu once (gtx 550ti). But as right now, I use my original gpu that is waiting to get upgraded.

if you are using windows there is an option in bios 'turn fast boot on/off' when diong this it will serch for new hardware on boot and find you graphics card. this worked for my 760.

I have also found an upgrade to my bios from Hp website, but I think it doesn't have the required upgrades. Besides, I'm not really fan of the idea of upgrading bios.

Have you tried to reset the BIOS by unplugging the little round battery with the system unplugged? Some newer graphics cards have a switch on them to switch between UEFI mode and legacy mode? Can you post the exact model of your card?

If you can't get this card to work you might consider returning it for a model featuring a dual BIOS then you can use the kind of switch I mentioned in the last post (a physical switch on the card)

turn it of and it will work. then install the nvidia drivers and should ber all good
