Hi to everyone of the community,

I planning to buy a new laptop for working purpose and I would like to ask some help of the community to choose a good model and especially a good brand, because I really don't know what brands is the most indicated for industrial purposes. The laptop will be basically used to emulate virtual machines (especially with VMware Workstation) and them work with industrial automation software's of all types. My budget is about $1200,00. Thanks to everyone.

Lenovo ThinkPad...any model with an aluminum frame...and don't forget to protect it with a screen protector and a plastic spill guard over the keyboard.

If you need a model for actual industrial environments (lots of dust, metal shavings, heat, etc...) you need something like a Panasonic Toughbook which can be very pricy, but you need the semi-sealed design to keep things out of the case.

Lenovo is very good for the case stiffness and quality of components in the business line, but they are not very industrial.
