Hi guys and gals,

I am wanting to buy a new graphics card for a few games. I am going to be playing warface, rust, dayz, arma3, sim city 5 and hopefully the Sims 4,hopefully titan Fall and to get guild wars 2 working smoothly! ....My current card is a 9600gs....

I am only have a budget of around £70-£100.

I have seen,

or

If any one has any more similar or better cards, Nvidia or Ati, please point me in the right direction :)

Here are my specs, not great i know! I am wanting to know what cards are compatible with my cpu?

Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5G41T-M LX Rev X.0x
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
PSU: 650W

Hopefully that is enough info :)

thanks in advanced

Solution

The Zotac 650Ti should be fine although your processor may hold it back some.

The 750 is a much better candidate. If you go with that however, beware that games will run only around medium - high settings. No ultra, no insanity.

Also
your C2Q will hold that GPU back a bit. You may want to invest in a haswell board later.

lower power consumption and higher performance. The 750TI is well worth the extra 13 pounds

if your motherboard allows it and you have good cooling, you can overclock the heck out of the q6600 (or so i hear).

i sadly have an intel motherboard with no overclocking, but theres a extremely easy mod to bump your processor up to 3 ghz. all you need is a small piece of electrical tape. just look at this picture: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2352/2523162130_228e33b1b7.jpg

all you do is tape that one pin over, and it tricks the motherboard so that it changes the fsb from 1066 to 1333 mhz. very simple

EDIT: this is just so the processor won't be holding back the gpu as much

The Superclocked model from EVGA that I linked earlier will give you much more performance than that Asus model. We're talking about a 104MHz difference in performance. ;)
