Got a Lenovo G770 with dual GPU (onboard UMA and dedicated 6600m) here a friend asked me to look at. He had been having trouble with getting the Catalyst beta drivers working. He uninstalled the onboard and the dedicated and tells me the screen went black and would not come back.

He brought it to me and I pulled the battery, held the power, replugged and he presto the screen came back.

So I get into windows, use driver sweeper, remove all AMD stuff, reboot then installed catalyst. It seemed to be fine except for it kept coming up with this MOM.implementation error.

It appears to be a simple fix of using the AMD driver removal tool and then Driver Sweeper.

I have done that and now it wont boot and has the above error, not into any version of safe mode either.

It doesnt give a file thats causing an issue either.

So I have tried changing the setting in the bios that switches off the dedicated, that makes no difference.

It boots into linux distros, so I am wondering what to do from there.

Any ideas anyone? Is there a way to maybe install drivers using a Win 7 PE? Or what .sys/.inf files should i delete or replace when in the PE? Really stumped here and don't want to give up and re-install. If it were for a client I would have gone down that road a while ago, but as its for a good mate I'm willing to put in the extra effort.
