RAM Causing Power Issues?

Hey there toms hardware, its been a while since I've asked anything but I always get great answers here!

So I have 2x4 gig sticks of some g.skill ddr3 1333 and also have 2x4 Corsair Dominator Platinum 1866 sticks in there as well. My question being would it be better to run just the 1866 sticks? Or all four for a total of 16 gigs at 1333?

Lately I have been trying to OC my CPU (2500k) to 4.5ghz and I've managed to keep it stable but I run into a small problem when turning on the machine once and a while. The system will shut off, and back on by itself continuously for a good 10 to 15 minutes before it finally stays on, but with no boot up (Some times the EZ BIOS will pop up but with no UI, just the background). I'm pretty sure its a problem with the RAM. Either timing, or just the frequencies but I'm not to sure.

I've finally got my computer up and running after about an hour of messing around with it, but only with 1866 sticks in there and a standard clock on the CPU. So my first thought was to come here and ask for some help. Any info would be perfect. Not shutting my comp down tell I know for sure what is going on! Thanks!

My Specs:

Intel core i5-2500k @3.30ghz
8gigs of ddr3 1866 memory (Corsair Platinum)
ASUS DCUII GTX 570
WD CB 500gig HDD
ASUS P8P67 MoBo REV 3.0
Corsair GS800 PSU
Creative Sound Blaster Z SBX PCIE Gaming Sound Card
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 OS

More about ram causing power issues
  1. I would keep just the 1866 in there you could get some major compatibility errors if you mix ram like that. :)
  2. +1 keep only one set, your just asking for trouble if you mix
