RAM: Need 8GB. You can search Newegg for some memory. Anything from 1333mhz to 1866mhz will suffice.

These are your core components. You can build around these (i.e. case, hard drive, power supply, etc). Make sure your power supply is 600 watt or 750 watt and 80+ certified. You can also search for similar parts/CPUs...

If you are on that tight of a budget, then we can figure you out a build that will do that. But I know from past experience and others will tell you as well. Cutting back on some parts seems alright at the time but once you get a few years down the road and want to start upgrading, you run into problems. Like for me for example, i was on a tight budget like your self so cut back on small stuff, i didn't get a k version processor, I got a bare minimum power supply, my motherboard cant do raid, sli, or crossfire. But if you know for certain that you NEVER want to do any of this stuff, then its not a big deal, however, I thought i would never want to but once you get money there is always something that would be fun and awesome to upgrade(such as sli or crossfire). My suggestion would be decide what brand parts you want to shoot for, like amd or intel,(if you care at all). And i can make a list of what I would recommend, then you can see if you need to save more money or not.

It's actually my first time building a gaming PC, but I prefer nvidia or amd, the reason the price range is so low is because my aunt asked what I wanted for my birthday so I was looking for a pretty sick PC that can run the following games in listed on max settings with good frames.

Keep that in mind for your budget. You may want to invest more in your motherboard. I just gave you a starting point based upon your budget.

Again, you may strongly consider a better motherboard (b/w $130 to $170 price range) with the AM3+ socket.

BTW... you will NOT be able to max out modern titles with a $600 budget. You will however, be able to play on high/ultra settings at 1080p at or above 60 fps with the anti-aliasing turned off. To max out modern titles require a high-end CPU (FX 8 core or i7) and at GPU in the $300 range (and up!).

I also one up the cooler master hyper 212 evo, that is what i run in my pc. Also titanHunter is correct(hey again), you will NOT be able to max out games like that with full anti aliasing, again as was already stated, you will be able to play high settings with no AA. as for my parts list, which is over budget, but this what i would do if you actually wanted to max out these games to ALMOST the fullest extent at 1080p.

CPU:Intel Core i5-4670K $235

MOBO: MSI Z97-Gaming 5 $142

GPU: XFX Double D R9-280X $280(after MIR)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150678&cm_re=r9_280x-_-14-150-678-_-Product

Ram: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB(Any ram will work that is 1600 mhz or higher, this is stuff me and all my freinds use and it is quality ram.) $72

HardDrive: A blue or Black western digital, size of your choose

PSU: A 600-750 watt power supply from a reputable dealer(corsair, seasonic, evga), cooler master and rosewill are starting to come out with solid psu as well.

CPU Cooler: Hyper Master 212 Evo $30(after MIR)

Now all you need is a nice mid tower case and your set, again I know this is way over budget but this leaves you with loads of options in the future and kick-ass performance right out of the box(once you build it). Given that you buy an Intel k version processor, you have the ability to overclock, this processor and board can hit 4.2 ghz easy which is plenty fast for any games right now(3.4 ghz is fast enough at the moment). And if you dont want to go through the trouble of overclocking yourself, you can use the oc genie msi motherboards provide to do an automatic overclock, though it is recommended you do it yourself. The graphics card is a beast as it is and xfx makes great coolers, this card performs just under what a gtx770 performs but the 3gb of ram over 2gb will help with the rendering in a game like arma 3, also giving the 280x has a bigger memory bus actually taking advantage of all the memory. Again, you can overclock the card to outperform a gtx770. Just make sure if you do overclock that you have proper cooling in your case. You can also add a second 280x in crossfire in the future, if you ever plan on doing that, get an 850 watt power supply to save money in the long run.(Also, if you can get a 770 for cheaper, that would be another solid choice, just keep in mind you will see some advantages in having 3gb of ram, such as gaming at higher resolutions.

So all in all, if you want to wait(by the sounds of it you dont), i would save your money and do a build something like this, it makes you up to date with the latest socket and provides you with solid performance in games and options in the future.

Hey so I just happened to stubble across this thread in search of an estimate regarding the very same question. I'm very pleased with your thorough build suggestion you offered him and it looks like something I may try out my self for I too play the Arma series along with Dayz, BF, etc. I've only got a few questions for you Durfurbrains247. One mainly just being is there any changes to this build you'd recommend being that this post was made last summer?
