Hello guys, I have a pc with
intel core i5
xfx core 550 psu
6 gb ram
sapphire r7 265
H57HAM2 mobo
will it bottleneck or work fine?

Solution

no it will not bottleneck your cpu and gpu is well balanced..

Well, bottleneck where and in what scenarios is the question.

I see that you've got an older CPU with a newer GPU, so I'm guessing you're looking to upgrade your graphics card? ( Or already done so? ) So I'm guessing you're asking about gaming performance? I'd say you should be fine. You're not rocking the latest and greatest, but you should have no problem with mainstream games and even the more demanding titles should be ok as long as you don't crank the details too high. I can give you more detailed responses if you let me know what games you're playing ( or hoping to play, ) at what resolution, and what kind of detail settings you are hoping for.

Well Thank you. I have not yet upgraded anything yet but I am planning to upgrade the psu to xfx core550 to meet my gpu which I m also upgrading to r7 265. You are right I m going to use it for gaming purposes only. Games like Assassin creed unity, blackflag, battlefield4, farcry4, watchdogs, division, gta5, cod the new one and all the new games that are gonna come. I want to play on medium to high settings at 1080p. I want to keep this system for approx. 4 years and then I will throw it out and buy a new one.

A 265 will not be sufficient for that kind of performance on those games. If you want smooth frames at 1080p on med-high settings, I wouldn't go any lower than a 270X. Even then, I don't think a 270X is likely to last four years as a strong card. Games that come out in two years may be too demanding for it, I don't know.

Good choice on the PSU, though.

r7 265 is a good card but not that good that it could run games smoothly at high settings for 4 yrs but u always have the option to lower your resolution turn off the shadows lower your antialising , vsync etc if you are comfortable with that..
