Do I have to use SATA port 1?

I've been getting BSODs lately and noticed my SATA port 1 is a little loose. Is there anything wrong with connecting my SSD to 2, and my dvd drive to say 5? Do I need to change anything in the BIOS after doing this?

I only have a SSD and a DVD drive connected, and all of my ports are 6gbps.

thanks

Typically, your system will automatically detect the change and you'll notice no difference, it will find the boot OS and no issues should arise.

You can and if I.t is your only drive you should be fine, although you could cgeck the boot order in the bios if you have a second drive to make sure you're booting off the right one. Although it will normally find the correct drive if it is the only one with windows on it

It really shouldn't matter which SATA ports you use, and you shouldn't need to make any BIOS changes (although it is just possible that you may need to set the boot drive). It can certainly do no harm to try porDt 2 rather than port 1 for the hard drive and any free port for the DVD drive.
