I rma'ed the first card as i crashed constantly when playing games and thought it was due to a faulty graphics card. But when i put the new one in and tried to play games(had all the drivers up to date) i only got 6-8 frames on the same settings as i was playing before and i tries to see what would happen if i lowered the settings to the lowest possible and only got 12-13 fps which is ridiculous because my friends have almost the exact setup as i do and are running 40-50 fps without a problem. The crashes do in fact still occur but less often when it crashes the screen freezes i lose all control and the speakers play the sound off the last frame over and over again for 5-7 seconds. I did post this on Reddit but it didn't solve my problem and someone suggested it might have to do with my motherboard throttling my CPU. Except in my case i have an 8320 http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/330572-30-970a-warning.

Hello,

For that system, you should have a good quality PSU, at least 500W and at least 35Amps on +12V rail.

If you have such a PSU, have you uninstall/reinstall the GPU drivers after changing the card? These 12-13 Fps are consistent or they are jumping up and down? What are the temps for CPU and GPU?

I have a cx500 watt power supply. I re-installed the graphic drivers yes, and yes the 12-13 fps is consistent.

GPU: Usage:99% Temperature:31 VID usage:0 FB usage:82 GPU voltage:850 mV GPU fan duty: 10% GPU fan speed:1080rpm GPU clock: 324MHz Memory clock:648MHz Processor clock:648MHz Memory usage:1516MB Power target status: 102%
CPU: CPU temp:46 Vcore:1.458V Cpu fan:3528rpm Cpu utilization:22% System temp: 46

That CX500 is not the proper choice by far; please check this:

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

It seems that your GPU works at a safety pace, as GPU clock should be much higher (at least 800 MHz core, 1200 MHz memory).

The 102% power status seems to indicate some lack of power. Please install CPUID and let it run while gaming, then read the values for +12, +5, +3.3. If you see +12V dropping to +11.xxx volts, you should change the PSU.
