Normal temps i7-4790K + Hyper 212 Evo?

Is it normal for a 4790K to hit 75°C under 100% load? The CPU is cooled with the CM Hyper 212 Evo.

I used prime95 to test my CPU. One core (core 4) only hits 65°C which seems a little bit strange to me.

Idle temps are 32-35°C.

Can someone tell me if these temperatures are normal for this CPU and cooler?

Idle temps are great. Load temps are fine... for the stock cooler. I'm really surprised the 212 EVO isn't doing a better job, however. Are you sure it is mounted correctly? A variation between cores is normal.

Same boat as you, however I am using the Phanteks PH-TC14PE....
Getting ~70C average on Prime95, peaks at 80C though.

i'd say that is okay. i run with the 4770k which is suppose to run hotter and require more volts than the 4790k and i'm at 1.38vcore and 4.6ghz and 70c 100%loads after delid.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that your temps are kinda high with the 212 EVO. I've only had one experience with the Haswell "refresh" CPUs. I had to send it back due to high temps at both idle and load. The replacement did the exact same thing. Finally sold it on ebay with a disclaimer stating my temps. And it was only an i3! As a result, I'm sitting out the Haswells.
