Hello there, I was wondering what would be a good air CPU cooler for a i5-4670k which will probably be overclocked at 4.4ghz. Could I get some recommendations for a good cooler that will be compatible with my build/case for around £30 and also a £50 recommendation.

Here is my build:

Well although I haven't got one myself the Cooler Master hyper 212 Evo has great reviews and people seem to get great results with it as long as there is enough airflow threw the case. Anything from Noctua will give you great cooling as well really, you can't go wrong with their products but just check the height of the cooler and then see what you can fit in the case, it will say on Corsair's website so it will be easy to find. The Cooler Master cooler fits in the case, just checked but you'll have to check for yourself about any Noctua ones

Hi, I have already purchased the parts for my build so I will be sticking with the i5-4670k and the AS5. What temperatures do you think I would get with the coolers you posted geofelt? Remember I will probably clock to 4.4ghz.

Cheers.

How high you can clock is determined by your luck in getting a good bin.
As you increase the clock, more vcore is needed for stability.
Once your vcore gets to about 1.25, two things happen.
1. Heat rises exponentially.
2. Damage to your cpu increases.
The high clocks you hear about are often at 1.3v or higher. That is not prudent.
Yes, a better cooler will let you operate at 1.3v or even higher, but do you really want to do that?
My guess is that 4.0 is very likely. More than 4.4 at 1.25v is not that likely.
Not to worry. haswell @4,0 is a very competent gamer.
Take what you can get and enjoy.

I would buy the noctua for two reasons:
1. Mounting and quality is superb.
2. A 140mm fan will be quieter at load than a 120mm fan.
