Not sure where else to post this, but this seems to be a fairly active community so here goes.
_____________

I am trying to upgrade this pc, as it stands right now I have:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz, 2400 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 610
Installed Physical Memory (RAM): 6.00 GB

I just can't seem to find out what kind of motherboard this pc has in it. not even When I am looking right at it. >.>
So here I am asking three questions:

1. What kind of motherboard does it have?
2. I am looking to upgrade my PSU and Video Card (I'm not sure what for the PSU, but something that has atleast 400 wats. Because I want to try to put in a GeForce GTX 460, or possibly depending on my budget in 2 more weeks a GeForce 650 TI.
3. Would those graphics card work with said motherboard?

Solution

The Dell OptiPlex 755 Small Form Factor is limited to half height, single slot width graphics cards. The hard disk drive prevents the use of dual slot width graphics cards. No power supply upgrade is required...

Can you tell us is it the SFF (Small Form Factor) or Desktop version? They both lay flat on the table but one is bigger than the other. You can find images on the web easily. The Desktop version has a 280 Watt power supply and the SFF has a 275 Watt PSU. Regarding the motherboard you're out of luck as Dell uses proprietary ones in smaller cases. Those graphics cards won't work because they require external PCI Express power connectors and they're too high.

Which of the four form factors do you have? They were available in Mini Tower, Desktop, Small Form Factor or Ultra Small Form Factor models.

It's all obsolete Dell proprietary BTX form factor motherboards. The PSUs used in the Desktop, Small Form Factor or Ultra Small Form Factor models are custom form factor.

It isn't entirely non-upgradeable, there's just a hard limit to what you're able to upgrade on the machine. You could pop in, for example, a Core 2 Quad CPU (or faster C2D for REALLY cheap), some more RAM, a low-profile higher-end graphics card, and an SSD. All of those things would (with the potential exception of the RAM if you're already maxed out) significantly improve the performance of your machine. It just depends on what you use it for, how much you have to spend, and so on, if those things are really worth doing in your case. What specs are you looking at now? How much can you spend? What do you use the machine for? All these things matter.

Well, Right now everything is good except for the possible exception of my PSU..and I don't need a huge upgrade for graphics card. Just better than my GeForce 610. I use it for gaming, but at the same time. The newest game I play is Wildstar which >should< run on a GeForce 8800. (Which I know works on this machine) but I can't find any low profile ones, So i was looking at a GTX 460.

For Example, this machine when I got it. Only had 3 gigs of RAM, now its sitting at a steady 6 gigs. So that part is exceptionally good.

HD 7750 low profile or R7 250 low profile. You won't be able to use two low profile brackets, only one so check what outputs your graphics card will have and check if your monitor can support them. You're doing this at your own risk because of the PSU and heat.

To my knowledge, the best GPU you can get that's available in low profile form is the GTX 750Ti, a la this one: http://www.kfa2.com/750tioc.shtml . I know there's another company or two out there making them, too. You can't really use it with ANYTHING in the PCI slot below it, though, of course. As far as PSU, Dell is very proprietary when it comes to its Optiplex series. I doubt you'd find anything in the way of more power than you've got. It's distantly possible they've got a newer SFF PSU out there that could work, but I doubt it, and wouldn't be surprised if they had less rather than more wattage given Intel's march toward efficiency. As far as RAM, are you running 2x2 and 2x1? Because I don't think this machine supports triple channel; running dual would be an improvement.

That KFA2 GTX 750Ti OC is a dual slot width card based on its cooler size and will not fit in the Dell OptiPlex 755 Small Form Factor. The hard disk drive's mounting bracket and the hard disk drive itself is in the way.

The graphics card used in the following Dell OptiPlex 755 Small Form Factor picture is a SAPPHIRE HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 LOW PROFILE and is a single slot width card:
