I would like to build my very first rig this summer and have been looking at a lot of websites for prebuilt pc's but a friend of mine that built his rig told me its better to build one yourself because its cheaper and you can upgrade it freely. i will use this pc primairly for gaming and for some schoolwork which require programs such as autocad, sketchup, revit, etc.
i looked at a couple of prebuilt pc's and the 2 that caught my eyes the most are:

An Axon revolution
-Case Corsair Graphite 230T Black Window
-Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3
-Processor Intel Core i5 4460 Haswell (4x 3200 mHz) quad core
-Ram 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz 2x 4GB
-Video card AMD Radeon R7 260X (2048 MB )
-SSD 120 GB
-Energy Corsair VS Series VS650
-OS none
Price: 779 Euro's

And a medion AKOYA PC P5321 G
-Case -unnamed
-Motherboard -unnamed
-Processor ntel® Core™ i5-4440 processor
-Ram 8GB ram
-Video card NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX760
-Storage 1TB memory
-Energy unnamed
-OS WIndows 8.1
-Wifi
Price: 799 Euro's
So my question is: what is the best build i can make with a budget of 750 euro's (approximately 1000 dollars)

Solution
Well, both could be good, but it does really depend. If you want a gaming computer that is good in the long run, invest most of your money in the processor, motherboard, and case. You can always upgrade the video card and RAM and they will always be on the market. Use $500 for processor and motherboard, use $180 for 8 GB of Ram, $220 for graphics and $100 for case and fans. It is crucial that you get a good processor and motherboard initially or else it will be a pain getting a newer and better one.
