core i7 4770 3.4ghz
16g ram
GeForce GT 760 4gig but only 1.5vram is it worth getting another 760 if so does it matter if it's a more powerful one?

Solution
With Nvidia cards, I believe the VRAM size has to match for SLI. Dual cards will not double the amount of VRAM, however.
2 cards will be ~80% faster than a single card in most games that are SLI aware. (That's all modern games) So in that regard, it would be faster than almost any single card you could buy. But while micro-stutter has pretty well be eliminated with dual cards, it still raises it ugly head occasionally.

Sli looks awesome and performs awesome. But you have to be ready for a fierce few days of tweaking to get all of your settings working and performing just right. But once you do, you'll see a huge increase in fps.

You just might want to sell your old card and get a better one. Yes, you might see some benefits of SLI, but then again you might not in the games you play. A single high end GPU is always the best way to go for stability, in my humble opinion. You will not enjoy your second card in SLI if your having stability issues.
