Best Place to install a Temperature Meter probe

Hi im buying a Temperature meter for my pc and i dont want to short out anything where would be the best place for me to place this probe

I would say near the CPU cooler, GPU, or the exhaust.

There is no real need for one though. CPU monitors its temps, so does the GPU, motherboard, HDD etc. It only measures case temps, which can be reflected in the previous listed.

so would just taping it next to the exhaust be the best place?
or should i just get this http://www.amazon.com/9fox-Desktop-Controller-Regulator... will this give me the info i need?
not trying to break the bank here i know its a cheap one but its just a cool little gadget i would probably have fun playing with and it looks like it would be usefull

I would say that is more helpful.
Time and date is simply a nifty feature, its a fan controller, which alone make its worthwhile, it also gives temps (of cpu, or the fans it doesnt specify)
