You have the wrong amount of RAM installed for the operating system. Windows 7 64 bit requires 2gb of RAM for installation and operation of the operating system. This does not leave any RAM for other applications. You need to either install a 32 bit version of Windows or install more RAM. That board supports up to 16gb of RAM so with your hardware and operating system you need at least another 2gb of RAM and 6gb more would really be better. 2 gb of additional RAM would improve things dramatically though. You can get another 2gb here for pretty cheap. It might be better if you knew the exact type you already have installed and get another stick just like it though so it would run in dual channel without trouble. But this will work too, it just might not run in dual channel mode which isn't that big of a deal anyhow.

There is nothing wrong with my reading abilities. The OP clearly states that he's having issues related to memory and with a 64bit Windows 7 installation windows will use every bit of the 2GB leaving nothing for other uses. If he had a windows 7 32 bit installation it would be ok, although still slow due to the limited amount of resources but 64 bit windows will hog everything. Just because you meet the absolute minimum requirements for the operating system does not mean you're in the clear in regard to performance and the requirements of other installed applications.

With a watchfull eye on what starts up will w7 64 bit do fine with even 2gb's of ram.The pc i'm on right now is w8 64 bit and uses only 1.3 gb's with two windows of firefox, internet radio and e few minor things,w7 shouldn't do so differently.

What you and I do, and what the average user does, or should do, or that we should recommend that they do, are wholly different things.
