win 7 install with new hard drive

I have just put a new hard drive in my computer and tried to install win 7 on it and i got two different error codes
First: 0x0000007E

Second: after i booted into safe mode i got this message; 0x00000050. Stumped can't install OS onto new hard drive. Any help for this poor lost soul will be much appreciated.

You might want to take a look at this - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_install/stop-0x0000007e-when-trying-to-install-windows-7/9942d69a-982f-4d6a-a059-c430a27c9974 - and see if anything there is relevant to the problem you are having. Are you trying to install from a DVD or a USB drive?

i am trying to use a DVD i burnt from an ISO file that i had downloaded. I will check out that link, though, thanks

I don't suggest using pirated Windows as it is illegal and has high potential risk of being is illegitimate and has malware
