I just got this processor in and set up and I bought a z97 asrock mobo built for overclocking. I have turbo boost off and all c states off and everything I can think of is turned to manual mode nothing is on auto. I can change the value in the bios just fine it's all good there but when. I boot into windows it is always at stock clock speed! I have never had this problem and I have been overclocking for 3 years now. The only difference is this is my first intel build so idk if I am doing something wrong?

Solution

Glad you fixed it. That would be bad to get a Unlocked CPU and not able to overclock it.

Well I just updated my bios and the manual overclock would still not work but they have a few presets that do work they are like 3.8ghz 4ghz 4.2ghz and 4.5ghz but that is all the higher it will let me go with the presets

Well I found out that I needed to update my bios for my processor but even after I updated it it wouldn't work. On the new bios there were preset overclocks so I decided to just see if they would work and it did and after that it worked by just increasing the multiplier.
