For all the hate windows 8 is getting, I think it is better than windows 7. I definitely performs better. And if you want to get the windows 7 style start button back, there are many software to do so. "Start is back" is a great software but is not free. Best free one would be "Classic Shell" but the downside is that is runs as a process in the background constantly.

8

you add a start button using a program called classic shell [ free] and then it behaves much like 7
Its also faster , smarter and most importantly it has a much better license
7 oem is locked to the first mb
8 can be used in 2 more computers

make sure you get the 64 bit version
