I just recently bought a Gigabyte G1 Sniper Z97 mobo and a i7 4770K. I reinstalled windows and popped in the mobo disk and downloaded all of the drivers. I use an Ethernet cable for my connection and it was not recognizing the connection at all. I checked in the device manager and there were no cautions. So I decided to uninstall the drivers and try to re-install them. Now when I try download it and install it, it doesnt show up in device manager. Also to note that in my old pc when I plugged in the Ethernet cable it lit up. In this it does not. I have checked the connection to the router and everything.hoping that it is not a hardware issue.

Solution
If the device is not shown in Device Manager and there are no unknown devices listed (?), that typically means the device has failed.

Incidentally, when installing motherboard drivers, the chipset driver should always be installed first.
