Metal plate on back of mother board.

Hi,

I recently got a mother board replacement from MSI. (it was covered under warranty) This new mother board has a metal back plate on the back of the motherboard as to where my old one did not. (G31TM-P21)

The heat sink that I have (which is from the old mother board) is a push pin heat sink and with this metal plate there, I cannot mount my old heat sink.

I'm stumped on what to do now and I do not want to unnecessarily spend money. I'm afraid to try and take off the metal plate that I might break the mother board.

Suggestions or comments greatly appreciated.

Should work, can you upload a photo of the back of the new motherboard or post the model number?
