Building a new system for a friend and one of the wires coming from the PSU going to the motherboard was yanked out when I opened it, and I wanted to know if it was safe to use until I can replace it. It is a EVGA supernova 1.3kw PSU for an i7-4930k CPU.

It's a fully-modular PSU. I'm not sure what situation you're talking about where the wire was "yanked" out. Just plug it back in. They usually are a very tight fit and should not be easily yanked. You should not be so forceful when pulling on those cables either.

One of the wires from the 20 or so that make up the connector plugged into the motherboard is torn from the socket.

Can you take a picture? Sorry for the inconvenience but I don't fully understand what you are talking about. And a picture is worth a thousand words. :)

That is to avoid confusion and would only be to your benefit that we have an accurate picture of your dilemma.
