HI

Can any one help me please I have a Vista SP2 installation with a damaged registry.

Stop: 0x0000007B (0x80599BB0,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)

I have tried a startup repair with no luck. I can boot to a cmd using a USB flash drive.

I believe the problem is in the registry and in particular this area.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet006\Enum

Under Enum the IDE key is missing. I tried to copy it from

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet003\Enum

But the permissions on ControlSet006\Enum would not allow it and I can not change the permissions for some reason.

To do the above I connected the hard drive to a second laptop via a USB cable and used Registrar Registry Manager Pro to try the copy and reset permissions.

Could I just delete ControlSet006 and then do a startup repair and obtain the fixes from ControlSet003.

7B is caused by the OS not having to ability to properly access the drive. Have you recently made changes in the bios? Switching the SATA operation mode? When did this happen, what triggered this?

Hi thanks for the reply.

I have no idea what cause this to happen. Turned the computer on and the BSOD came up. After a little research discovered the items mentioned above.
