So, I was wondering if you used two compatible Graphics cards and just chose not to use SLI/Xfire, what would happen? Could you use them both at once (I.E. a 4+ continuous monitor display) or would only one work at a time like when you have one graphics card and the integrated ports on your motherboard?

Only one would work at a time.

Really? I use two 660Ti's & without SLi enabled both cards work just fine, so what do you mean by only one will work?

How do they go on 4 monitors? How many different videos can you play at once?

With Nvidia, you can use the other card as a Dedicated PhysX card. You can even have an AMD card and use the Nvidia card as the PhysX card. AMD's R9 series features a bridgeless Crossfire support. Meaning the Crossfire is done at the bus lane. I'm not entirely sure if their crossfire is automatically enabled or not. Never had an AMD card before.

Two monitors on each card? How many videos you can play at once has nothing to do with how many graphic cards or monitors one has.

Do you have the SLI bridge plugged in and just disabled in the settings?
