Hello experts,

I have changed my case and CPU recently, and I get black screen as soon as I start PC.

I've replaced CPU and GPU and am still getting black screen.

PC specifications are:

cpu - amd fx 8350
gpu - sapphire hd 7950
mobo - msi 990xa-gd55
psu - codegen MX 600

Looking forward for help, thanks in advance.

This is going to sound like a dumb suggestion, but could you have forgotten to plug your video card in to the power supply? If you're getting a black screen before you even get a monitor signal, then the video card likely isn't getting power.

Correct me if I'm wrong, GPU needs 2 6-pin cables right? If that is true, I guess I somehow damaged my PSU while changing cases.

Is there any way I can check if the PSU works? ( I don't have any desktop-user friends )

regardless you might consider an upgrade in the psu department the 8350 has a huge psu consumption so does the 7950 and at full load that could be quite taxing for that psu including everything else (case lighting, usb devices, fan (with or without LED's)) better safe than sorry go for a 700w 80+ brand if possible to be safe but yes you can buy ur self a PSU tester just simply google PSU tester and there should be plenty and there normally pretty self explanatory I got myself one off ebay and it worked a treat :D

At full load I understand there might be a problem, yet at start-up should that be an issue?

Anyway, I agreed that PSU might be the problem, and ordered a new one. Will keep this post updated.

I think the HD 7950 does indeed need two 6-pin PCIe connectors, yes. What makes you think you damaged it? You're leaving out some details there, I think. :)

A new one is a great call anyway, Codegen is definitely a brand with a reputation for sub-par quality.
Check out how the Codegen unit in this article performed (albeit a different model than yours):

I thought I might have damaged it because it is connected the same way as it was when it was working, and replacing the other parts (except motherboard) did not solve the issue.

Since I'm waiting for new PSU, I gave another shot to my old one last night, and saw that GPU fans were running. Is it possible to power up GPU enough to run fans but not enough for video output?
