Hello. I have HIS 7850 2GB, it works ok, but I'm thinking to switch on something more powerful. Later this year there will be GTA 5, DOOM 4 beta and other interesting projects for me. So I want a decent FPS.

What would be a good upgrade from 7850 in terms of cost efficiency? I was looking for 280, 280X or 290. In my opinion, 290X is too expensive. What do you think? Thanks for suggestions.

My resolution is 1980 x 1200. CPU i5 3470.

I would go for a 290 or gtx 780 to make it a significant upgrade. the 280 wouldnt much that much of an upgrade, 280x would be a good upgrade, but not as significant as the 290.

Sapphire or ASUS 290? First one is cheaper.

What about PSU? I have GlacialPower 650W

Avoid any 290 with the reference cooler ( the single blower style fan at the back of the card), they run loud and hot. The Asus DCU II versions are nice.

You should be ok with that power supply (gets good reviews). Just make sure you connect each power connector to the card from seperate rails.
