Nothing on monitor, cpu related?

My first pc i just finished will not load the bios on the screen, my monitor is conmected and idle, is it possible my cpu is not running and how would i make sure it is

First, is the ram in properly the right place? Make shure to check to see if the ram of your's is loose. If it is simple push down gently until you hear the snaps on your motherboard the ram placers, its like 2 snaps but in kinda 1. But if that is not the promblem then I would check all your cables on your psu and make shure to see if they are in the right place also, or switch out some with other cables. That happened to me one time it turned out for me to be my psu cables not in the right place. Any one else got suggestion?
