Good Morning,

I just built a new rig (see below) and it runs fine without the GPU. When I install the GPU it sounds like it's booting up but then 10 seconds later powers off then immediately tries to boot up again with the same results. This will keep on happening until I kill the power.

New System Setup: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/thisismn/saved/VCfhP6

- I have also tried using an Antec 850 watt PSU and it has the same results as above.
- I have updated the bios to the latest version.

Does this sounds like a bad GPU or am I missing something obvious?

Thank you in advance!

-try the gpu in another pci-e slot.

if that doesn't work

-try to clr_cmos - a full clr_cmos mind you, pull the battery from the motherboard, the plug out of the back of the case, and and set the jumper to clr_cmos, leave it for a few minutes, then reset the jumper, put the battery back in, and boot your computer.

- Yes I plugged in the 8pin and 6pin power.
- This motherboard is a mini ITX and only has one pci-e slot.
- I will try clearing the cmos in a bit to see if that resolves the issue.

Thank you both for the quick responses.

Did you end up figuring this out? I find that I'm having the same problem with this card myself. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply. The power supply should be enough since I matched all the parts with a successful PCPartPicker build, the $970 gaming build from June. I'll clear the CMOS when I get off work and I'll see of that works!

Still nothing...cleared CMOS so now I can actually use it. I've updated BIOS, double and triple-checked my power connections, switched to Legacy boot from UEFI, and I'm still stumped. :( One step closer to an RMA I guess...

wait, you clr_cmos and now you're getting to post screens? what happens after that?

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I cleared the CMOS so I can at least use the integrated graphics again. The reboot loop issue still persists when I plug in the video card to power.

That's what I was afraid of. I'll try to hunt down another rig to test on.

Got another PSU to test with and the problem continued. I've also tested the x16 slot with other devices. It's definitely the card and it's taking an all-expense paid trip back to Newegg for replacement. Keep y'all posted on the result of the new one as a service. This OP will deliver.
