Hi guys, I'm going to build my first gaming rig, and I wanted to get some feedback regarding my parts selection.

I was wondering if the 750 watt power supply might be a bit much, and also whether the crucial ballistix are better than the corsair counterparts. Lastly, I figured I would buy from micro center because I heard that they do pretty good deals on bundle purchases... Is that true?

I do apologize if this is the wrong forum to post these questions in.

Ideal psu size for that build is...

550W bronze 80+ rated or more.

though you could get away with a 450W-500W psu if you wanted.

I would avoid buying the video card and power supply from Microcenter. Microcenter tends to overprice video cards and power supplies; you can buy better ones on Newegg.com

I would not recommend the Corsair CX power supply; it has cheap internal capacitors. I would recommend going with a Seasonic, XFX or a higher-quality Corsair power supply.

So after doing some extra reading, as well as sadams' suggestions, I'll probably pick up the i5 4690k & the ASRock Extreme...

And I'll be sure to look around elsewhere for the other parts, then. I'll do a bit more research into the power supply, and hen I think I'll be good to go.

Will a ~600W PSU be good enough for an R9 270x?

And furthermore, I will probably stay away from doing any kind of overclocking - I let things run as is. Will that affect what I should go for?
