Having an interesting problem. Asus P9X79 mobo was working fine in march 2014 with GTX760. All fine.
One day mid-game, computer powers off .. won't restart/post.
Performed elimination troubleshooting, determined that post fails due to gpu.
Fit spare gpu (old radeon), post fine, computer works normally.
Return gtx760 for warranty repairs. Receive back, still no post.
Fit brand new gtx760 from different manufacturer, still no post.
Remove gpu completely (no gpu installed), no post.
Fit any other pci-e card, works fine. Post fine.
Questions:
1. Should I be able to post p9x79 with no gpu installed?
2. Does this sound like a mobo bios issue? I have not updated yet, am trying it now.
3. Apart from bios update, what else can I do apart from giving up on using gtx760?
