Hello,in my (gaming) build i was going with the fx 8350 for 180euros , 8 cores sound fun even with lower single threat power..or even fx 6300 with 6 cores..but i saw some reviews and stuff that shows that those cpus luck behind compare with intel's. I understand that amd is targeing lower prices and thats why i chose amd , so here is the question,

Will an fx 8350 or an fx 6300 hold up with my setup fine, or will it hold my gpu back ?
Will i earn fps if i go with an intel one at the same price point or near it? The gpu is a vapor x oc R9 290, its a strong gpu and i dont want to limit it to the power of the cpu.
Graphics card

* if you have any better cpu recommentation pls add. :) thnx in advance.

You'll need the FX-8350 performance so you don't bottleneck the R9 290.

Recommendation: from AMD, that's the strongest you can get for a reasonable price, unless you're willing to pay for the FX-9000 series. From Intel, check which Core i5 Ivy bridge or Haswell you can get for about the same price as the FX-8. I say, look the intel Haswell i5 just because is a new platform. I no longer recommend the AM3+ platform because is already dead, too old. But is up to you.

I like AMD and hope they can get some new enthusiast class processors, but when it comes to the fx-83xx vs i5 debate, the i5 will be better than the fx. You won't go wrong with either, but if an i5 is within your budget, go Intel.
