Why won't my computer display?

Earlier today, I was trying to mount a fan in the window above my desktop computer. I accidentally dropped the fan, and it hit the top of the PC. The case is made of SECC, so I didn't expect there to be any internal damage, due to the light weight of the fan. Contrary to that, the PC instantly shut off. Upon trying to turn it back on, it seemed like rather than toggling the circuit to turn on the computer when holding the button for a short amount of time it instead kpt flickering the front lights on and off. If I could stop holding it at the right time to make the computer turn on, then it wouldn't display. I opened up the case, and saw no physical signs of damage. Now, it acts like my PC did with It's old, cheap PSU. I can turn it on, but it soon shuts off and won't turn on for hours. The odd part is, the PSU is bottom-mounted and the fan only lightly hit the top of the case. If anything, I suspect damage to the power-on circuit.

I tried your suggestion, and it helped a bit. Now, it turns on every time, but it still doesn't display. I hear a fast rattling noise from near the cpu and gpu. Any idea what part might be causing the problem?

Well, I am pretty sure It's either the cpu or gpu fans, but I also noticed the smell of burnt electronics. Any other ideas? Otherwise, I'll just investigate a bit more and figure out what the source is.

I don't think it's the PSU as 1. The fan turns on and 2. Everything powers on successfully

I'll check the caps later.

Update: I looked up how to check for bad capacitors, and had a good look at the board. None of them seemed abnormal (ie no leaking fluids and they all seemed fairly straight.). Any other ideas?

Update 2: Okay, I've replaced all the parts in my computer with older parts that I had except the HDDs, the motherboard, the PSU, and the RAM. I don't see how the RAM could've been damaged. I have tested the PSU both by turning on the computer and via the paperclip test, both being successful. The HDDs wouldn't stop the PC from POSTing, so I am pretty sure the mobo is to blame. I'm going to order a new one on Wednesday, however I have OEM Windows. How do I put in a new key? I understand that I have to buy a new key, but where would I put it in to activate it on the new mobo?
