So, I made a post about this about upgrading my computer (I made the computer myself) seven months ago, but now I'm actually planning on upgrading my computer.

Here are all the components I used:
CPU: AMD TA10-5800K 3.8G 4M FM2 R
Motherboard: ASRock FM2A85X EXTREME4 FM2 A85X
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Blue WD 1T HDD
Video Card: AMD SAPPHIRE RADEON 7770 HD 1G
Power Supply: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W

From what I've been told I should replace the CPU with an fx6300 and an AM3+ motherboard to work with it. I just want to know for sure if I should upgrade my computer with these new components and if it would make a noticeable difference. Currently, my computer can run games like Skyrim at ~40fps on high settings, Minecraft at an average 50fps, and LoL at 60fps. Thanks for helping!

Solution
For minecraft, that is strictly CPU based. An upgraded GPU will do nothing.

For LOL, a combo of both would be ideal as it is still pretty CPU heavy.

I would disable the iGPU cores in your CPU, get a good cooler, and overclock your CPU.

Then I would use the left over budget for a better GPU.

This is the best temporary fix. Next would be your motherboard/ CPU down the road and a new PSU as the CX units are not great at all.

You have a decent CPU. You need to disable the iGPU cores, then grab an aftermarket cooler and OC it until you hit a stable frequency that gets like 60-65c at full load (70 is fine, but that makes the case hot which can affect GPU performance.) Then get a better GPU, the 7770 is what is holding you back.

I suggest:

$35 Cooler Master 212 Hyper EVO

$150 HIS iPower IceQ X² Boost R9 270 2GB

I mainly just want to upgrade it to be able to play relatively new games smoothly, I don't need a perfect 60fps or higher on every game since it would be too expensive to upgrade everything.

No, the GPU is definitely holding you back, but your CPU is going to limit what GPU you can run without a bottleneck. I would only recommend an i5 if you plant o greatly upgrade the GPU very soon after as the CPU alone will not yield much results. It seemed as though you played alot of Skyrim which HATES AMD CPUs. Even an i3 will blow away an overclocked fx8350 in skyrim. IF you play more than skyrim, a GPU upgrade will DEFINITELY be more worth while.

Ok well I will probably do a bigger upgrade in the future, but the main game I play is LoL (League of Legends), and then I randomly play other games when I get bored, Skyrim being one of them. Could you possibly recommend me the improvements I need to get an fps boost in LoL and Minecraft? I wish I could upgrade my CPU, Motherboard, and Graphics card, but I could only upgrade either my CPU + Motherboard or just my Graphics card, because of my current budget. I'm guessing all I need is an improved video card though.
