Is my PC better than PS4?

PS4 & Xbox One are both AMD based, both CPU and GPU. They are good, but a good PC would probably be better. I have a PS3 and have played Fallout: New Vegas on it. I have also played it on the PC with a GTX 680 and i7 4770. It looks a whole lot better on the PC.

The PS4's jaguar cores are about as powerful as a AMD 7870. So, your CPU is really good, but your GPU is slightly behind a PS4. Honestly a PC has way more functionality than a PS4. You could just get a $200 graphics card and have it look better than getting a $400 PS4. Also, PC games tend to be slightly cheaper than console games, so you'll save some money in the long run.

The problem is, you can't just match hardware performance. Consoles are very optimized for gaming and games are very optimized for consoles, to make them look great, even on the relatively weak console hardware. There are even reports that game devs are artificially crippling games on PC or making them look worse, so they are a closer match to the supposedly "next gen" consoles (which is by far the most lucrative games market, hence they don't want customers thinking consoles are way behind PC). In reality, top end PC hardware is miles ahead of consoles, but there's not one game yet that runs well on a PC and looks substantially better than consoles.
