Howdy great peeps,

Decided I want a Intel I7 processor, got tired of my current AMD.
Intend to do at least some OCing,

Would this Motherboard:
ASRock Z97 Extreme 4
http://azerty.nl/0-5602-688152/asrock-z97-extreme4-.html

Be sufficient for this CPU (& Overclock)?
Intel Core i7 4790K
http://azerty.nl/0-5656-707629/intel-core-i7-4790k-4-ghz-.html

Current CPU cooler is the
DeepCool Neptwin
http://azerty.nl/0-976-560732/deepcool-neptwin.html
Had my FX-6300 OCed from 3.5Ghz to 4.5Ghz stable on v1.392,
about 34c idle & max of 61c under stress test for 6 hours)

Thanks in advance, as usual :)
Mike

EDIT:
Current PSU is the: ThermalTake Berlin 630W 80+

Well, seems ok then :)

Thanks for the quick replies lads!

It'll depend more on the CPU you get (if it's a good overclocker or not). Assuming you don't get a dud, 4.5 - 4.6GHz definitely should be possible at reasonable voltages. 4.4 GHz is almost guaranteed.

Well the I7 4790K is unlocked, but then again - Haswells aren't known for their extreme OCing ability.

What are the temps you'd say?
My FX-6300 ran OCed on highest loads during stresstest on 61c

There's no way to be sure of the temps unless it's been tested. However, your cooler should perform similarly to the CM Hyper 212 EVO, I'd say around 70 - 80C during heavy use at around 4.5-4.6GHz.Perfectly acceptable for OCed Haswell core temps.
Take these numbers with a grain of salt. I tried to account for the 4790K's improved TIM and such, however individual results can always vary.

As for the motherboard/case question. Yes it will! :)

Well I will surely notch up the Ghz very safely :p
My current cooler, the Deepcool Neptwin, should outperform the 212 EVO by at a bit.

Here is a comparison (right click & translate to English, since it's in Dutch):

Cheers :)
