budget gaming pc help

I want to build a cheap computer mainly for gaming but also school work. I have 450 pounds to spend on it not including peripherals or os. Any help you guys can give me would be great. Also if you know of any good cheap monitors that would go well with it could you mention it

The VG238H is a great addition as a monitor to mamamia13's build.
