Hello everyone, today I got myself a new monitor to plug into my Radeon HD 7770 XFX. As I already have my other two plugged into the DVI ports, I only had a display port and HDMI port left. I plug the monitor into the HDMI cable, and it works. The only problem is that one of my other DVIs stopped working. I read a little about it, and I saw that you cannot use HDMI with DVI. It said you needed a displayport plugin. So I went to a store and got an adapter, I plug everything in, but the DVI monitor still doesn't work, as I click "Extend desktop to this display", and it keeps giving the error of "Unable to save display settings". Thank you

Did you make sure the display port adapter is "active" and not "passive"? Here's an article explaining the difference and why its important: http://www.migee.com/2012/12/20/active-vs-passive-displayport-adapter-whats-the-difference-why-does-eyefinity-care/

Cpatel, I just went and got the active adapter. The problem I am having now is that one monitor is forced to 640 x 480. I got a dvi - displayport active adapter. I cannot change the resolution and I have no idea why.
EDIT: It classifies the monitor as a Generic Non-PnP monitor.
