ASUS H97M-E mobo and i5 4690 Linux compatibility

Hi, did any of you guys tried to install a Linux OS on a pc with

motherboard: ASUS H97M-E Socket 1150 Intel H97 DDR3 SATA3 USB3 MicroATX
CPU: Intel Core i5 4690 Socket 1150 3,5GHz 6MB 22nm HD Graphics 4600 Boxed

or give me some hint to find out if they could work with it?

I have successfully installed Linux Mint 17 (Quiana) on an ASUS Z97-C motherboard with i5-4690 processor. Runs great. Intel H97 chipset would work too (difference: Z97 allows overclocking, and has more versatile graphics): see this link. Use the latest Linux: older Linux Mint 13 (Maya) did not have the correct LAN drivers.

I successfully installed
Zorin OS 9,
Xubuntu 14.04 LTS, and
Linux Mint 17 Xfce

on an
ASUS H97 PLUS ATX motherboard with an Intel Core i3 4160 3.6 GHz CPU

I installed one Linux OS after the other in quick succession to see which one I liked the most. I encountered no apparent incompatibility. Hope that helps.

i bought asus H97 M-E . installed xubuntu 14 but can't see the grub menu. how do i get grub menu?
