When I stress my 3570k to 100% utilization, which has not been overclocked, it boosts to the standard 3.8 GHz with a core voltage of 1.336. is this too high of a voltage? and the core voltage is set to auto in the BIOS
It is not too high, but it is definitely higher than necessary. Pretty much all CPUs are like that. I always undervolt my CPUs to just above what is necessary to run stock speeds, saves power and reduces heat. (or, alternatively, I'll overclock to the highest possible frequency with stock voltage)
