hi i have a cooler master haf 922 case and my idle temps are 38-40c. my room is pretty hot so im sure that has to do with them being a little high. i want to add a large 250mm fan on the side panel of my case.

i would like to get watercooling in the future so i want to just mount the radiator on the top section of my case (where i have a 250mm fan) and then just add that fan to the side panel. this way i wouldnt have an extra 250mm fan laying around with no where to put it if i buy the extra. but.... i dont think that would be any time soon.

so im basically just wondering how much cooler will my system be with an added 250mm fan on the side. because if it wont make much of a difference i would rather save my money and do what i mentioned above.

Usually the fans that come with the case are sufficient. 40C on a 35C day is good. Just turn up your cpu cooler fan speed a bit.

About the 120mm fans already in it... If they are the same ones that came stock on my 912 then they are really bad. I can't even call those things fans. They did essentially nothing. Replacing all of my fans with Yate Loon Mediums made my temps go down by about 7c. (I only had 3 fans, 2 intade 1 exhaust.) Just an FYI.

I don't really have an opinion on larger fans above 120mm, Some are decent but most of them don't spin fast enough to make any real difference. If you have one laying around though, go for it.

thanks for the info on the crappiness of the 120mm fans. im pretty sure i have the same ones you had. so if anything changing the 120s for new ones would work out better than a 250? and also would you have any idea on how many degrees i would drop with an extra 250mm?

I'd try changing out the fans, yate loons are about 5 bucks each. Not to sure about how much difference the 250mm fan would do, might cause more harm than good due to turbulence but I'm just speculating here.
