Please do not ask me to get the K version or one to overclock as i do not wish to overclock this build because it is for my wife and me as we do not want that. My next build after this will be in the $1,000 and up range but not this build. So far we do not want to go over the price of $210 for a CPU. We have came to decision to pick a i5-3570 and a i5-4570. If there is a much better CPU out there in the price range of $210 and under than please say so and i will check it out. We mainly want to be able to handle games such as Skyrim in ultra settings and Battlefield 4 if possible. Also the Graphics card being used is MSI R9 270X GAMING 2G. Here is a comparison of the two CPUs we i picked out and the link to them both.

i5 4570. It's the newer generation version of the 3570, and approximately 7% faster at the same clockspeed. Since it's clocked a little lower, I'd expect them to be about equal. I'd still grab the 4570.

Remember that for the 4570 you'd need an LGA 1150 socket motherboard, and for the 3570 you'd need an LGA 1155 socket motherboard.

Thank you and yes i know :) but do you think the i5 4570 and the MSI R9 270X GAMING 2G will be able to run Skyrim on ultra ans battlefield 4 ok?

It should be able to play both fine at the highest your GPU can handle BTW if you are going with a haswell chip check out this one -> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116991
The i5-4590 is the same price as the i5-4570 but clocked with an extra 100Mhz bringing it closer to the clockspeed of the i5-3570. This should remove some of the rare times where the Haswell chip will be slightly slower than the Ivybridge chip.

That's a fantastic GPU, it should be able to handle Skyrim on Ultra no problem if you're playing in 1920x1080 or lower resolution, 4k is a different story though. But yeah, with that GPU you could even install lighting and texture mods that enhance the way the game looks by an unbelievable amount. However in certain situations in BF4 and MAYBE very rarely in skyrim your CPU will be a bottleneck.

Well with skyrim you should be fine even using the HighRes texture pack at resolutions as high as 2560x1200 getting near 60FPS average (46FPS minimum). BF4 you can play at 2560x1440 Ultra at playable framerates (31FPS average) using AMD's Mantle. I'm guessing a lower resolution of 1920x1080 would raise the FPS quite a bit but no one seems to have benchmarked it with mantle at 1920x1080 and I don't own the game to find out (I have an HD 7870 which is basically a lower clocked 270X).

But if you wanted more performance you could try and get a R9 280 or 280X the 280X gets about 50% more FPS than the 270X in BF4.

I think i will go with the Intel Core i5-4590 instead of the Intel Core i5-4570. What do you think?

The one with the higher clock speed, the 4590. With turbo it goes up to 3.7GHz while the 4570 needs to be overclocked to get there.

They both use the same socket type and they're the same price, might as well take the faster one.

Thanks man, just ordered it :). I have heard some others say that if i dont get a 9 series motherboard it will not work, whatever that is. I was wanting to get this motheboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130699 , will this work with it? I want to be able to put the CPU without messing with the BIOS and crap i dont want to have to update the MB with another CPU and than put my new CPU in thats dumb lol

It will work on any board that has a LGA 1150 socket as long as it's updated, which I don't recommend doing by yourself even though it's extremely easy. People screw it up all the time somehow and then you're out one motherboard, if the BIOS needs to be flashed have a professional do it for like 40$ or something.

Also when I want to check if the BIOS needs to be flashed I read through the reviews on newegg to check if others have had to do it, or do quick google search. But to be honest you won't truly know until you get the mobo.

Yes, I'm sure it will work. I mean there's always a one in a million chance you might receive faulty hardware but it should be just fine.

Just to make sure we're on the same page here I'm saying the ASRock H97M Pro4 will work without needing a BIOS flash.

Ok i understand, you are saying the i5-4590 will work with the ASRock H97M Pro4 LGA 1150 right out of the box with no needed BIOS flash, pretty much just plug and play lol
