Hi. Will a ASUS GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5 GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card fit in my asrock micro fm2 motherboard. Does the PCI express 3.0 x 16 matter?
I have a PCI 3. But I didn't know if PCI 3x16 was different. I was just wondering if it will fit in my motherboard and play games good. Would the Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7870 2 GB GDDR5 DVI-I/HDMI/2x Mini-Displayport PCI-Express 3.0 Graphic Card GV-R787OC-2GD
by Gigabyte be better

if your motherboard supports sli and the graphic cards are dual slot and not triple slot you should be fine . only certain motherboards will fit x2 triple slot graphics cards in sli .

i would actually suggest a r9 280 or x for around that price. In the descripition of your mobo they'll tell you if its sli ready/crossfire it should also have it printed on your board. I would suggest you go with a fx 6300 and hyper 212 instead of a apu. Apus are for people with no graphics card so i recommend a fx 6300 on budget or fx 8320 or i5 if not on tight budget

I did not do research on the graphics cards he wants . but if he decides to choose different graphics cards he should make sure they are dual slot and not triple slot that's all

its completley compatible. As long as it says pci express 2.0 or 3.0 any modern gpu will be good. Fm2 has pci-e 3.0 which means it has enough space for all the data to go through pci express 2.0 isnt bad at all either it hasnt been fully saturated or became full with to much data yet only in SLI OR CROSSFIRE then pci e 3.0 is good the times x16,x8,x4 etc just mean how many lanes the data can go through. also get a r9 280 it has 3gb of vram which will allopw it to be more future proof and less of a bottle neck or something thats slows down the system.

your case has places for your ports (hdmi, vga, dvi, etc to go) it usually will have 7 or more. If its dual slot it will take up 2 ports, if triple slot 3 slots so if you have 2 gpus it will take up 4 or 6 slots and leave you with less than half of the places for accessories like a sound card(not needed)

it is how many slots on the back of your case that the graphics cards use . some graphics cards are thicker then others

my bad I thought you wanted to know if your motherboard supports sli I am not sure if it does but if you are just looking to use a single card then you don't have to worry about if it is a dual slot card or a triple slot card

I don't think they even make triple slot 700 series graphics cards . I know they were more common when the 500 series graphics cards were out
