GTX 465 Compatability Help

I purchased a GTX 465 to use in my new budgeted build. However I installed Windows 8.1 Pro as my operating system instead of Win Vista/XP/7 like the box says its compatible with. I've tried installing drivers but my computer says there is hardware issues. Am i doing something wrong? Is it impossible? If so, is there anyway to know what GPUs will work for Windows 8.1 Pro?

Ive downloaded multiple possible drivers from Microsoft and the Nvidia website itself. The graphics card emits a blue light, the fan works, and my computer detects a PCI Simple Communications Controller in the device manager. But each time i try to install the drivers via internet, or the disc provided it says there's a hardware or compatibility error.

I currently have windows 7 installed and my gtx 465 has no issues with it, two months ago I had windows 8.1 installed and ran without issues too, I went back to w7 because I didn't like windows 8 at all.
My evga gtx 465 has no compatibility issues and yours shouldn't have either.
Maybe it's a bios problem, try loading optimized defaults. Discard gtx 465 compatibility issues with w8.
