Upgrade from 7850 size card

A buddy of mine wants to upgrade his r7850 Power Edition, but he wants a card that's similar in size that way it doesn't screw up his cable management or some shit like that.

Is there any noteworthy upgrades that he could upgrade to?

Maybe 1 or 2 more inches he can stretch. I was thinking of the GTX770 Superclocked, which is quite small but its at his limit of his budget. Too bad there's no site that compares sizes for all cards.

I don't suggest an upgrade to anything less than an R9 290.

the gtx670 comes in some pretty small forms... and that's a nice upgrade over a 7850.

Not a bad idea, there's some superclocked 670s still out there that are small, hopefully performance is still good. Depends if we can find them.

well the 670 is somewhere between a 760 and 770 in performance... so i think that will represent a nice step forward for him.
