Hey guys. Long story short, over the next to years I'm going to be traveling around the country doing travel nursing, and would like a PC that I can take with me.

My initial plan was to purchase the Asus rog g750jm, as it pretty much touches on every need I have, except for the screen size I'm used to(26 inch) and the price..1300. A few computer savvy friends told me I should look into building as I could get much more bang for my buck. So, here I am.

What I'm looking for out of my PC build:
Starting off I'd like to be able to run World of Warcraft, post WoD expansion nearly seemless. I'd like a 120gb SSD HD along with a 1TB regular HD. I'd prefer a blu ray player, but it's not absolutely necessary. In the future, the ability to run dual monitors and stream if I want to would be neat, but not a necessity. I do however would like to be able to Skype clearly, so I can talk with my daughter when I'm out on assignment. It will need to be wireless in terms of internet, as most places won't have the option to hard wire that I stay. I would like to stay with Intel, and have been informed that a quality i5 will do the trick. The case isn't too important, I can pretty much figure that one out on my own.

What I'm looking for out of this post is brands, sizes, stuff that a person who's never built would not be privy to. Video card references, anything that you think may be of help. Even a hypothetical Amazon.com or Newegg build that you think would work. My budget is around 1300(price of the laptop), however, I'd like to stay under 1000(if possible). Thank you in advance for your help.

Here's a basic list that doesnt include a disk drive, a monitor or mouse/keyboard. it has built in wireless, has a small form factor making easy for transporting and will be able to perform well for a decent period of time, i left it as an 8gb stick because on a mini-itx form factor should you want to get another 8 in the future you can,

I have a 32 inch tv that I take with me and with likely just use it as the monitor. It's 720p capable, but would like the computer 1080 capable for when I upgrade in the near future.

I love the build, just reading a lot of bad reviews on the quality of those cases.

I would say that CPU, Video card and even SSD are way overkill for the target she gave (being able to play World of Warcraft...) She didn't want to spend 1300, and you have her spending almost 1200.

What budget are you actually looking to spend, lyric89? If 1181 is within your range, the machine he described would be very good... but it may be more than you need. Especially if you have no intention of overclocking the unlocked 4690K processor he recommended.

If so, I'd recommend a much cheaper AMD-based machine with a Radeon R9 270X graphics card for 150, and an AMD FX-4350 CPU for about 100 even. That shaves a clean 310 dollars off the build, bringing it down to about 870.

I guarantee that system will still play World of Warcraft at 1080p (if/when you upgrade your monitor/tv) at 60fps with the settings turned up, and plenty more besides.

Whether you go with Windows 7 Home or Windows 8.1 would be up to you, but newer windows equals longer support.
